I am a graduate of James Madison College at Michigan State University. After undergraduate school I joined the Teacher Corps program in Indianapolis, Indiana and obtained a Masters in Education (magna cum laude) and began teaching in the Indianapolis Public Schools. After five years I returned to the Detroit area to attend University of Detroit School of Law, worked full time and still managed to graduate at the top of my class (magna cum laude).
I am proud to have been a protégé of Richard M. Goodman, one of the original icons in the area of products liability, medical malpractice and especially the field of automobile design liability. After 14 years I left Goodman, Lister, Seikaly and Peters, and formed William R. Seikaly P.C. After two years as a sole practitioner, my present partner, Jeffrey T. Stewart, and I formed Seikaly & Stewart, P.C. We have specialized in litigation and trial practice for the last 19 years.
My commitment to the personal injury field has always remained strong. It remains an important part of the practice. In expanding the practice, I brought to corporate America the same skills I developed as an aggressive, no-nonsense personal injury lawyer with a drive to win. I have represented small businesses and multi national companies as a litigator, often against governmental agencies.
I have remained an active member of the community. Including: serving eight years on the Southfield School Board. Volunteering time to Madison School District, assisting in sending students to travel to and study in the rainforest in the Galapagos Islands, investigated administrators accused of wrongdoing, and speaking at career day. I am presently a Board Member at The Arts Academy in the Woods, a performing and fine arts academy.
I have been a guest lecturer many times including: Distinguished Lecturer, Detroit College of Law Guest Lecturer, Wayne State University School of Law Guest Lecturer, University of Denver School of Law Guest Lecturer, Oakland University Guest Lecturer, University of Michigan Undergraduate Mock Trial Team Former Coach of the Wayne State University Law School Mock Trial Team Judge of multiple Moot Court Trials A frequent speaker at local area High Schools
In my free time I enjoy exercise, yoga, hiking (I actually hiked to the bottom of the Grand Canyon and back in a single day to celebrate my 58th birthday), dancing, music and reading. My greatest joys in life are time spent with my family and friends, especially my two children, Michael and Kristen.
